LLBR Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-07
LLBR (Language Learner Book Reader) marks the words you may not know on photos of printed book pages. It is built to work without collecting anything about you:
- There is no LLBR server and no account.
- There are no analytics, ads or tracking.
- LLBR makes no network requests. Everything it stores stays on your device.
- Because the developer never receives your data, it is never sold or shared.
If you turn on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple may give the developer crash reports and usage statistics. iOS controls this, not LLBR.
What LLBR keeps on your device
- Photos of the book pages you take, and how you cropped them
- The words recognized on those pages and where they are on each page
- Book names, cover images, and when you added or last changed each book
- Your word lists: the words you know and the words you are learning, with when and how often each one came up and the book and page where it appeared
This data stays in LLBR’s own storage on your device. Like other app data, it is included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you make them.
What runs on your device
- Apple’s built-in text recognition reads the words on your photos.
- Apple’s built-in language tools identify each word’s part of speech; LLBR finds its base form itself.
- Meanings come from a dictionary built into LLBR.
Camera
LLBR asks for camera access the first time you open its camera and uses the camera only while you take photos of pages. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera. LLBR does not access your photo library and asks for no other permissions.
Deleting your data
Delete the app to remove everything LLBR stored on your device. Copies in earlier device backups remain until those backups are deleted.
Children
LLBR collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
